I’m tired. And? I only worked four hours today.
L is hitting a developmental leap, according to my Wonder Weeks app, and is at the attention needing, cuddly, fussy period and he’s (hopefully) going through a growth spurt, so he slept a lot today. Tomorrow we will probably take Beckett (the dog) for a walk along the beach, so we can get out of the house and I can explore my new work surroundings.
I am so smitten with Baby L. Tomorrow is my first full day 100% alone with him. I got this. I am so blessed that his parents picked me to care for him and watch him grow. His auburn hair and bright blue eyes make me happy, as does his love for furry blankies.
I love my job.
If you’ve been following my story for a while, you would know that this year has been a rough year for me in the job department.
In February, I lost my beloved job of two and a half years. I remained unemployed until July. In July, I started a new job. In September, I lost it. I’ve been unemployed since then…
That is, until this Saturday! I received a call verbally offering me a job I’d interviewed for only days before. We meshed really well and I’m so excited to work for them! Things are under way and my background check is being processed right now.
Baby Boy L is currently nine weeks old. He has gorgeous auburn hair and bright blue eyes. I will be working ten hours a day, four days a week. I start full-time in January, part-time in November.
I am beyond blessed and so very excited.
2013 is my year.
Things are changing on my end of the computer screen. The job I have been working at for a mere two months is also making some large, and quick changes to their family.
They have decided to put P in school full-time. He is struggling socially. I see it everyday. Whenever we go to the park or pool and the other children don’t want to play with him because they don’t know him and already have other friends, it breaks his heart. I see it in his eyes. He doesn’t even know the names of the kids in his class because he’s not as school often enough to learn them.
I’m not mad. I can’t be.
I know they are doing the right thing for him.
This means that there is no need for me in their new dynamic. My last day is September 20th. They gave me plenty of notice and I already been looking for something else. I’ve had an interview. I’m sure if they google my name this blog will pop up and they’ll read through my posts. [heey y’all (:]
Just wanted to fill you in.
After weeks of our date nights consisting of going to car dealerships, and us being stressed beyond belief about my (lack of vehicle) situation…
I bought a car!
It’s a 2012 Honda CR-V LX.
We were going to buy a 2011, but went to the new car section of the dealership and realized the sticker price was only about $1,500 more for a brand new one. That was an immediate yes.
I drove it off the lot on Saturday, June 7th. It had 83 miles on it.
J also bought a new truck on Sunday. If either of us purchase cars within the next seven years, someone please shake us.
This are pretty chaotic at work right now. It’s 2:47 on 7.12 and P has been asleep for 27 minutes. In the house at this moment are: the handyman, MB’s sister (who is helping them unpack), the exercise equipment people (two guys), The Parent’s (M/DB), me, P, and Lizzy (the dog). The dryer repair man just left. We toured P’s school this morning, are going back for a visit tomorrow, and he starts on Monday! There is also Salsa Chicken cooking in their slow cooker, prepped and started by yours truly.
The neighbors just came over with goodies to introduce themselves. I love this area because everyone is so warm and welcoming! Their plate of goodies had an Erin Condren sticker on it, which instantly made me happy (: I received my 2012-2013 planner yesterday, and I luuuurve it. Review? You got it!
I’ve been gone a while. Y’all want a recap of whats happened since my last post? Not counting the one from yesterday.
1. I got a job.
2. I went to the International Nanny Conference in Las Vegas.
3. I quit my job.
4. I interviewed for another job, two weeks ago.
5. …and another, yesterday.
6. Spied on my angry neighbor, last night.
Ha. Things you might ask…
You finally got a job, why’d you quit so soon?
In short, parental views didn’t match in any way & I thought it be best for me to bow out and let them find what they were real looking for in a Nanny.
You went to the INA Conference? Was it like a giant Nanny party?
Erm, no. I learned A TON, and have the notes to prove it. I got to meet my closest Nanny friend, Keyanna, as well as Sue Downey! Both are amazing ladies & I can’t wait to see them in October at NannyPalooza!
Why are you such a nosey neighbor?
His windows are open, as are mine. If you don’t want me to spy on you through my kitchen window, don’t yell so loud…or close your windows so I can’t hear you. Just sayin’.
